Built from plans found in Fine Woodworking, this desk is constructed from solid white oak and finished with General Finishes Salaem Maple stain. This desk has full extension drawer slides and a door that looks like a bi-fold door, but swings out of the way of the drawers. All the drawers we made using hand cut dovetails.
Pretty cool stuff, I saw this site with some useful info on Computer Desks . Hope it helps
ReplyDeleteThanks Henry - this one was a challenge but it turned out great, a lot of joinery that is hidden but this desk is solid. The full extension drawer slides were worth the effort as well.
ReplyDeleteRick, just found the website and wanted to say great job! I have done a fair share of woodworking in my younger years, though never tackled a desk before.
ReplyDeleteThe white oak is one of my favorite woods, I one made a small coffee table with white oak and purple heart inlays, came out great.
My wife has been doing a little casual shopping for a oak computer desk, what do you charge for a desk like that? Or do you even sell them?
Thanks and great work!
